Team Up Thursday Diptych - the theme was Doors. Rose is away for a couple of weeks - so I have dug into the archives and put up my own. This is such a great theme I thought it was a shame to miss it! Both these doors are from old churches - on the left in Christchurch NZ, and on the right in Ballarat.

I'm trying a new entry for my blog. 'Slice of Life Tuesday'. (the 12 on 12th didn't work for me, I think this will be better!). This idea is from Darrah Parkers blog where, as Darrah says -

"Slice of Life Tuesday is a weekly photo challenge in which I provide a theme for inspiration and ask people to share photos from their everyday lives. For me, it has provided a way to stay creative and find the beauty in ordinary moment"

Each week as part of my Project 2010 album I include 3-4 photos, a piece of "stuff". and 1 journalling card. As part of 'Slice of Life Tuesday', I will share a photo &/or stuff that will be part of that week.

Today I have a photo of the two favourite books I read on holidays. I absolutely loved them both. I had read Diane Chamberlains book Beautiful Lie (and loved it), so was happy to find another of hers - and it was just as good! I hadn't heard of Geraldine Brooks, and her 'People of the Book' novel was one where I had to concentrate a little more than I usually like when on holidays, but it was definately worth it. I will be searching out another of her books soon.

And as a very current slice of life, this week I have a horrible cold/flu! I havn't done anything for the past two days, and am hoping that these tablets (Amcal brand of course!) will bring on a miraculous recovery in time for work tomorrow morning!

I'm back from my holiday visiting family in Redcliffe Qld (scrapbook layout from the week coming soon!). It has taken me a week to settle back into routine! I missed a week of the team up thursday diptych - but will be back later this week with the new theme - doors. Before I left for Qld I ordered a photo collage from Snapfish (they were 1/2 price, I ordered one for Laura with 21st photo's on it in a 20x16inch, looked great!) using all my Team Up Thursday Diptychs so far, this one is a 11x13inch, so that I can trim it down and add it to my scrapbooks. I really like how it came out (although my photo of it is a bit distorted).

I also ordered an enlargement of a digital photo collage I did for an exhibition coming up at our local library, with the theme of 'Elders'. This collage is of Cor Melis, who has been a member of the Portland Camera Club forever (and a member of VAPS for over 55 years!), he is 90 and still conducts workshops and mentors members. He is a great inspiration to all club members.

Next weeks Team Up Thursday Diptych (Rose was kind enough to send her photo early, so I don't have to think about it while I am away for the week). The theme was 'Where I live'. Rose is from Southern California - I love how all the white/blue boats at the pier contrast with the great wooden sign. We often get dolphins and whales in our area - although the pod of dolphins in my photo is a 'bit' larger than we normally see!

This layout is made from a digi template by Ali Edwards which was a bonus in Camp Scrap. I have done it as a hybrid - printing it out as an 8x8 to use on my 12x12 layout. I might go back and add some more embellishments - but as I am going on holidays to visit family for a week it will do for now! Got the layout done for Belinda - no braces now, just a retainer for 6-12 months!

Team Up Thursday Diptych - the theme was 'Celebration'. My photo on top and Rose's
fabulous 4th of July photo on the bottom! My photo is of the girls celebrating Cindy's birthday just before Cindy & Laura started Uni, its probably not the best photo, but is one of my favourites of the girls.

I have cheated a bit with my camera layout - no journalling but I think "photography makes me happy" is all I need to write. I have used Stacey Julians camera prompt, and also as part of LOM community the challenge was to do a layout with a photo of yourself it it. So I have done this super quick layout incorporating both challenges, and using the new Mama Razzi photography themed papers that I have just purchased.

Camp Scrap Layout No 4. I love how these layouts use 4x6 photos (I may have already said that!).

The next Team Up Thursday Diptych, the Theme was water. Rose's photo on top, and mine on the bottom.

I missed 'National Camera Day' (an American day of course!), and as I wanted to put a photo of my camera up on this day - as per Stacey Julians blog sprinkle "Take a picture of your camera. Today and the rest of this week is a perfect time to contemplate what your camera allows you to do. How has photography changed your life, how has it changed you? Photograph your camera and then consider creating some kind of tribute to the lens through which you view and capture life.". Then I was called into work - and didn't get anything else done. I still want to do this - and as I am heading off to Adelaide early tomorrow morning, will think about it and scrapbook a page about my camera next week. (Hopefully with a better pic of my camera!)

P.S. - My youngest, Belinda, got her Braces off today - can't wait to scrapbook that next week too!
