Scrapbooking

I now scrapbook using the Stacy Julian 'Library of Memories' system, this means I sort my photos chronologically, but when I make my scrapbook layouts I sort them by theme. So when I scrapbook, I go through my photos and just pick whatever I feel like scrapbooking, whether it be current or from when my girls were little. This helps me avoid the "always feeling behind"while scrapbooking feeling. (for more info on this go the blogs i read - Big Picture Scrapbooking.). Currently as well as my theme scrapbooks (At the moment I have 4 - All about Us, Things we do, Places we go & Celebrations), I am making each of my girls an A - Z scrapbook, covering their lives up until they finish secondary school. I have finished Laura's album, and am working on Cindy's, - hope to finish it over the next few months, and then start Belinda's!

This is Cindy's 'J' page - Just love dress ups.
This layout was completed using a sketch from Cathy Zeilski's Design Your Life class at Big Picture Scrapbooking.

And just for fun today I am including my favorite photo of the moment - 'Autumn footwear' - me and my 3 girls!

Since I have set this blog up, I figured I will use it for more that the Team Up Thursday Diptichs (I am waiting to hear if I have a partner - very exciting!).
So the plan is to weekly put up a Layout I have made, and the page from my Project Life album.

Project 2010
I have made up my own Project Life album, using We R Memory Keeper divided page protectors, and each week (4 pages per month) include 3-4 photos, 1 journalling card, and 1 piece of "stuff"(reciepts, flyers etc). This is my ongoing Chronological scrapbooking in a way.

Here is my first two weeks of March 2010 pages -
As you can see - these are just covering everyday life - all the little things that I would otherwise forget. For more info on this type of Scrapbooking check out the blogs I read - Becky Higgins & Ali Edwards.

Like many I was inspired by the book/blog 'A Year Of Mornings, 3191 miles apart', but wasn't sure how to do something like this and keep the inspiration going. Instead last year I did a Project 365, but this only lasted for 182 days! So I am now going to follow along with the great idea of 'Team Up Thursday' from Mental Inventory www.mentalinventory.blogspot.com/ where they do a weekly diptych - the same as in 'A year of mornings', but with a theme each week. Easier than a photo a day - and a theme to help! I can't wait! This week I am going to find a partner (or if no-else is interested I can get assigned a partner from Megan at 'Mental Inventory'), and then get right into it.

I think these photos all put together at the end will make a great mini book for me to keep.

So - If all goes to plan I will be back on the 8th of April with my first installment, posting each Thursday, and being inspired by all the other posts in the "Team Up Thursdays flickr pool".

Here's to more creative photography,

Joanne.
