Why do I always start off so well in classes and by the middle, get behind and never catch up!?
Anyway here is my next page for LOAD - This challenge was to leave 'white space'. This page will be the N page for Cindy's A-Z Album.

LOAD finishes tomorrow, although I do hope to go back and fill in some of the challenges. I achieved 13/31 layouts, maybe I'll get the last one done tomorrow and make it 14! I'm happy with that, its still an extra 13 layouts!
This week I start a new class 'Bakers Dozen' from BPS which is 13 layouts in 6 weeks (much more acheiveable, I hope). In this class you select 13 sets of photos (as per instuctions eg, 3 action photos, 2 photos of someone you love, etc), and also select 13 sets of embellishments (also as per class instructions, eg 6 flowers & 6 brads that co-ordinate, 4 x 6" peices of ribbon). Layouts start next week, I'm not sure how its gets put together, but it sounds fun!

I'm not sure where the week has gone, but it's time already for the next Team Up Thursday Diptych. The theme was 'Out of Focus', I hadn't prepared anything, so have cheated and found a photo to use after I got Rose's. I love the selective focus Rose has used, it makes a stunning photo!

This weeks Diptych Theme for Team Up Thursday was Hot & Cold. My photo on top, Rose's on the bottom. I found this a difficult theme, and we both left our photos until the last day, but I love how it turned out. I like how the round heating element complements the round bowl, and how well the colours went together! Check out more diptychs at the flickr pool.

LOAD - Challenge was to use your favourite patterned paper. - My favourite is usually a striped paper.

Last weeks Team Up Thursday Diptych. The Theme was Mom, Rose has taken a photo of very cute 'Wooden Moms' while I have used some 'Chrysanthemums'. Great fun! Make sure you check out Rose's blog for more about these and a peek at some more of Rose's great photos & words.
I am in trouble for this weeks theme 'Hot & Cold', inspiration has died, I can't think of anything, a little worried at this moment . . . .!

As I am home today I have also done one of the LOAD challenges that I missed last week -
a Holiday layout. This page will be the X page in Cindy's A-Z Album. I have used another of Cathy Z's designs as a starting base - they make putting lots of photos onto one page very easy!

Where has the week gone! Cindy returned to Adelaide last Monday, and Laura moved more stuff to her new house this weekend, and Mum returned to Bundaberg early Sunday Morning. It is quiet here at the moment, and hopefully I will get more scrapbooking done this week.
Here is my first 2 weeks of may Project 2010 pages, I am going to use them as my next -
LOAD challenge - A multi photo layout.

Happy Mothers Day. Chrysanthemum's for Mum!

Saturday, May 8, 2010

LOAD - the challenge was to use 5 things. I used - cardstock, pattern paper, stamps, scallop punch, and white pen for journalling.

Friday, May 7, 2010

LOAD - the next challenge was to use an embellishment already on your scrap table. I used one of the alphabet letters (from the pack used in the Kinder layout), to make Cindy's 'i' (for musical instruments!?) page for her A-Z Album. I used another of Cathy Z's designs.

Team Up Thursday Diptych. This week the theme was friends.
My photo on the left, Rose's on the right.

LOAD challenge - to scraplift a layout from Kellie Crowes gallery at Two Peas in a Bucket. I chose one of her simpler designs, this will be the K page in Cindy's A-Z Album. I'm loving how this class is making me do layouts!

LOAD - The challenge today was to distress something. But as I wanted to make a layout for my Mum for Mothers Day, I did this one (and couldn't get any distressing on it, my Mum isn't a very distressed type of girl!). I have created this as a hybrid layout using a Cathy Z design from DYL.

LOAD - the next challenge was to make a layout using only cardstock. The template is one of Cathy Z's. I have done this as a hybrid layout.

LOAD - Todays challenge was to use brads and buttons. This layout is a scraplift from Nic Howard at BPS. I have used brads to hold down the bottom right corner of the transparency, and a button in the centre of the flower. The transparence has the lyrics to Baz Luhrmann's 'Everbody's Free (to wear sunscreen)' song.

This is the first part of the song ( I recommend that you google the lyrics, or look for the song, definately worth a listen!)

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’09
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh never mind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing everyday that scares you.
Sing Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours. Floss.
LOAD - the challenge today was 'adjectives'. I didn't use an adjective to define my style, but just flicked through the photos until I found some that I could use an adjective in the title. Wicked was perfect. I will use this layout as the 'W' page in Cindy's A-Z Album.

, LOAD - Today we were to do any layout we liked - to try and show our scrapbooking style.
