Diptych 14 of 52
My photo on the left - I visited Portland over easter break, and it was great to catch up with friends and go for a couple of walks along the beach. Nikki's photo shows the lovely bond between siblings - I love the lighting in this photo!
Diptych 15 of 52
My photo on the left (as always!), this is the Ballarat Railway station - we often pick up/drop off laura here when she visits, and if we need to go to melb the train is sooo much easier than driving, finding a park etc. Love that its such a majestic old building. Nikki's photo shows Ella and her shadow at the beach, Ella is growing up so fast!

Thankful 2012 & Art of Observation Class.
Here are my Thankful entries No's 11, 12, 13, & 14!
11 - Inspirational sayings on the internet, (this one was on facebook!)
12- Rainbows after the rain.
13 - Good books to read. (Re-reading the Hunger Games Trilogy on my kindle here!)
14 - Home made gifts from friends. ( Nikki made homemade Hot Cross Buns this year, and was kind enough to share! They were good!)
For Week 1 Project in Heidi Swapps Art of Observation Class, the theme was beauty. I made a folder by covering a manila folder, as the memory folders aren't available in Australia yet. I used photos from my morning walks in Portland earlier in the year. I still need to add a few embellishments, and do the journalling ( I'm always hopeless at the journalling!)
On the left is a 'photo stack' the tabs lift to show more photos, journalling etc. The right of the page is a mini-book that has been made as part of the file folder. It also hold more photos etc.

Gratitude 2012
I have started a book to note what I am thankful for - its very simple and I plan to use to help me focus on the simple things in life, as a list, so that it is different from project life, simple in form and with one thing and a photo, and at least a couple of entries a week.
Thankful No. 1 - Family (pretty obvious, so I won't share a pic!)
Thankful No. 2 - Friends (ditto!)
Thankful No. 3 - New walking tracks.
Thankful No.4 - Having tea cooked ready for me when I get home!
Thankful No. 5 - Cars that take us to visit friends, then home again!
Thankful No. 6 - Instagram - and ideas & inspiration from other instagramers, (this is a quote from Elise's Project Life, love her blog & instagram pics!)

5 & 6 of 52 Photos
Where do the weeks go? Here is weeks 5 & 6 of nikki & my weekly diptychs. I admit I havnt taken as many photos the last couple of weeks (been busy with job interviews and organising a house to move to Ballarat!) and I have chosen my photo after getting Nikki's as a reminder each week! So you will notice that I have used a photo that I had taken that week I have followed her theme a little each week!
Week 5
Week 6
Aim to finish off the first half of Feb for Project life tonight & post tomorrow!

Photography 3 of 52
Here is our third diptych. Mine (on the left) is cindy & brindle heading home after our morning walk around the lagoon, Nikki's photo (on the right) is of Ella, her 'sleeping beauty'!
I don't have a photo for 52 photos in 52 weeks, the theme was community - and just didnt see anything. But here is my photo for the 'where I stand' flickr group
And another instagram photo - just for fun, yummy homemade pizza by Tylar!

Photography - Week 2 of 52
Diptych 2 of 52 - Love the chocolate cakes Nikki has chosen, and I have picked photos from a game of Monopoly we had last week!
The theme for the flickr group 52 photos in 52 weeks was 'Shine'. I have used a photo of Christmas Lollies.
I am loving using the phone for my photos. I know the quality isnt as good - but for most of my projects it is good enough! Instagram photos are shrunk considerably - but they are still great fun!
More to come next week!

Photography in 2012
Two photography projects this year, the first is to take 52 photos in 52 weeks (I started this last year, without much success, hoping now that I have my iPhone that this should be easy!). Go to the flickr group http://www.flickr.com/groups/52photosin52weeks/ to see more entries in this - we are given a theme each week to take a photo of, the first weeks theme was NEW. This photo was taken on my morning walk to Nuns Beach.
My next project is a joint project with Nikki - we each choose a pic from the week from our phones, and email it to each other on the sunday evening. I then put them together into a dipych - we don't have any themes, and we don't discuss what pic the other will send! Here is week 1

Slice of Life (or 52 Photos in 52 weeks - although I think it might take me longer than 52 weeks at this rate, lol!). The theme for this week was UP. (Go to the 52/52 flickr pool to see more Up images from other members of the group!) This photo is looking up the stairs going to Cindy & Belinda's new apartment in Adelaide.

This is the loungeroom - which was empty for the first week! They now have furniture (one of the fantastic furniture packages kept them busy putting everything together), so next week I should have fully furnished photos to share!

Slice of Life - (or 52 photos in 52 weeks)

We went to Port Fairy today and I entered an Art competion at Blarney Books and Art. You choose a book out of a barrow and then make something (can be any art media) either with the title, theme or using the book. The pieces (if selected) then become part of the Biblio-Art Exhibition at the store. The book I chose was 'The Power of Positive Thinking'. It was written in 1952 by a Pastor, and is full of affermations, and lots of what I would think is very New Age stuff!
I partly chose this book as I am again following Ali Edwards and participating in BPC One Little Word class this year. Last year my word was Create, and this year I have chosen Trust (to trust in the process, to trust that things are as they should be, and to trust more and worry less!). I'm hoping to make a piece than will visually represent my word.
