I'm Back!

Ok, it has been a year of changes and I've done lots of things out of my comfort zone. Now I'm back to document some of the changes by blogging again.  I blog for me, so, I suppose it makes sense that sometimes I have times (months) where blogging just doesnt happen - & I know I'll get back to it when I'm ready!  My last entry was April, and since then I have hardly scrapbooked - here's one page I did about the walking tracks near us in Ballarat, I like it & I was keen to use the new scrapbooking 'badges' I had found!

In July I found (with the help of Nikki and her Real Estate App on her phone!) a house to buy in
Ballarat, which in itself was pretty scary. But I did it, and we moved in at the end of September. I actually had two houses for a couple of months while tenants were found for the house we were renting (which was also a bit scary!).

Craft wise for the year the New House Announcement Card above and maybe 3 scrapbook layouts were all that happened (hopefully more next year?!),  I finished off two quilts that I found when packing to move to Ballarat ( I had finished the quilt tops, I paid someone to machine quilt them, and then just had  to bind them!). It actually felt good to sew, maybe I will do some more of this next year too?!

So thats some of what I have been up to in the last few months. I will be back to share what I have done in my Big Picture Online Classes, I have actually kept pretty much up with Move More Eat Well, and have followed my own outline for One Little Word this year.

Cheers for now,
Joanne.

Week In the Life 2012

This year I'm participating in Ali Edwards Week In The Life Project again. This will be the third year that I have started this project, 2010 is nearly finished, 2011 is mostly still on the computer, as I was working on hybrid pages (although I did complete a layout using some of the pics).

I still like this project as I find that I take lots of photos and often use the photos (that I wouldn't have usually taken) in other projects and layouts.
To try and help get this years finished, I have made a file folder as part of my Art Of Observation class at BPC, this lesson has two parts, the first was making a folder in anticipation of an event, and the second part (in 9 or so weeks time) will be about the actual event. I'm hoping that during this time that I will finish this years. And who knows maybe be inspired to finish the other two years!

Here is the front & back of the folder. I will make a photo stack for each day of the week, to go inside the folder. I am taking notes on my phone, using the One Day App, and am thinking I will simply take a screen shot of each days notes, and print it with my photos and include them with the photos!

Project Life February Part 2

Well, the move is all over,(and we finally have internet, YAY!)  we are now getting settled in Ballarat.  Belinda has started at Ballarat University, Cindy is working at the local IGA, and I have started at Crawfords Pharmacy. Laura started at Burwood Uni last week, and is renting a room 5mins from Uni at Burwood.
Lots of new and exciting things happening for us!

Here are pages 3-8 for February!

Project Life January (Part 2)

Here is my last spread for January (a bit keen to finish - lets hope nothing happens in the next 2 days, lol!). I ended up with more photos that expected (can't resist those sunrises on my morning walk!), so have removed the trimmed down page an replaced it with a full page, so have ended up with 3 double page spreads for January.  Lots of summer everyday life here, bbq's, walks, books, movies, australia day brekky, even giving the goat a haircut!

Project Life January (Part 1)

I'm loving using the Project Life Cobalt Core kit - the colours are great, with a mix of muted and vibrant colours, great for a more JOYful approch to my scrapbooking!

I am using the the Becky Higgins style A as one page, and a We R Memory keepers page which takes a mix of Vertical and horizontal photos.  I also have extra pockets which I have trimmed down as an extra page to use when I have more photos I want to include ( I have used this page this month.) I am still waiting on the paper to cut to put into the long 12"x2" slot on the second page of the first spread. So I will have 3 spreads for January, here are the first two!

2012 - Year of Joy!

I'm looking forward to 2012!
My Star sign said it was to be my year to detox, detox, detox! (it actually said to detox from food and fear!).  So I have joined Cathy Zeilskes Move More Eat Well year long class at Big Picture Classes, to keep me focused and motivated. We had to choose One Thing to follow through with for January, I have chosen to walk for at least an hour (or 5kms) at least 4 times a week, I'm going good so far, and I'm very thankful that Cindy is walking with me!

I have also signed up to do 'Twelve' with Stacy Julian (also at BPC) to keep me inspired with my scrapbooking.   Here is one of my favourite layouts from last year, hope to share some new layouts soon!

I'm redoing One Little Word, I love the concept, but as the class from Ali Edwards is the same as last year, I have developed the prompts more to suit myself, more fun and more as a reminder of the word over the year (although I love Ali Edwards classes, it was a bit too in depth and way too much journaling for me).
Here is my title page (front and back of a 6x6"page, washi tape covered chipboard letters, and my favorite 'joyful' photo from 2011,and a couple of definitions). My pages will go into the same album as I have used in 2010 and 2011, I will be using different page protectors each month, to try and keep the album interesting.  (I have Ange, Miriam & Bec joining me on this project - so good to have some motivation to make sure I continue through the whole year!)

Lots of creative joy for my year!

Joanne.

Saturday, December 24, 2011

Hi,
Yep, its December 2011. Its been a busy year - I have been scrapbooking, but havn't been on the computer very often.  I tend to internet surf from my tablet - from which I can't update my blog!  Anyway, hoping for 2012 to get back into it!  I have signed up for Stacy Julians "Twelve' class, and will show what I am doing as it goes along. I am also doing a One word for 2012, using my own prompts (a couple  from Ali's class in 2011, the rest to suit my style of paper crafting - more pics, papers etc than journalling).  So, lets see how things go - I can't wait for 2012, here's to a great year!

Slice of Life - This is a close up of flowers that I received from a customer last week.

This is Belinda relaxing before getting dressed for her Year 12 Formal!

And - a page waiting to be scrapbooked - each of my girls dressed for their Year 12 Formals, Laura in 2007, Cindy in 2009, and Belinda this year 2010.

G is for Grandparents page for Cindy's A-Z page. This layout is one of Nic Howards from her Colour workshop - the colour purple!

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Slice of Life - We went to Adelaide to visit Cindy, right in time to see Harry Potter 7 at the cinema! We have been reading Harry Potter ( and going to the movies) for 10 years now, so we have to see the last movies. It was great - we havn't grown out of Harry Potter yet!

This layout is for the 'Scraphappy Wardrobe challenge. The pic was of a girl with a purple filly top, and pink floral leggins. These photos are of Belinda's 4th Birthday - sooo cute!

Another page for Cindy's A-Z Album, Yay!! This is H for Horse Riding lessons. I love these new papers - they are the back of the new Bo Bunny double sided Christmas range!

Sunday, November 14, 2010

This is my next layout for Nic Howards BPC class, using the colour green. I have made it another page for Cindy's A-Z album (to see more from this album go here http://www.flickr.com/photos/joa2307/sets/72157624074729637/ ). I still have 8 letters to go - hoping to finish it soon, as I need to start on Belinda's!

Slice of Life - I saw this 'shoe fence' on my way home yesterday. It is very eye catching on the side of the road - there are more shoes than you can see here - but it was very hard to get them all in the photo! I just love it! Another layout for my BPC class - this week we are to use orange &/or yellow in layouts. In this layout (about the 'What's in my purse challenge' from Stacy Julians Blog in April) I have used orange/yellow coloured papers and transparencies that I received in an "Aussie Stash Trade" during Octobers LOAD challenge. The box of scrapbook goodies went from Victoria, to Perth WA, to Adelaide SA, to Sydney NSW, to Canberra ACT, then back to me in Victoria! Lots of stash exchanges during this time - & lots of fun!

This layout is also for the 'Colour' class and uses Nic Howards sketch. I have used ribbon and transparencies from the stash trade. I also think I need to add some black ribbon or something to balance out the photo - still thinking on that one!

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Slice of Life - this was Laura's last week at Amcal! She has found new job at a Pharmacy near Uni, and has been offered 20 hours+ a week over the summer break. In this photo she is saying goodbye to the dispensary CONSIS machine (her new pharmacy doesnt have one of these)!
In my BPC class with Nic Howard, this week we were to use the colours yellow & orange. Not easy colours for me & colours I don't use very often! I didn't use the sketch provided, as this was the only photo I had on hand that I felt I could use with these colours!

Sunday, October 31, 2010

This layout is from a Nic Howard sketch. Its not really my usual style, but I liked how I finally used some of the flourishes from my stash (I've had them for a while!). The photo is of Laura at her Grade 6 camp, dressed up at the Sovereign Hill 'Ragged School'.

Where has the last (almost) two months gone? Here's a bit of what I've been up to in that time -
Not much scrapbooking (only 1 layout), not much photography (only 1 photo), lots of working, and not much housework! I also completed a window installation for the local Upwelling festival (rather stressfull - good to have it finished!)

Here they all are:

Joined 'Picture Fall' (spring for me) and here is the one photo I took - the prompt was Leaves -

Joined October LOAD (it is part of the Scrap Happy group) and so far have made one layout - for Sara & Bill who have become grandparents for the first time, Congrats!

and the main thing I have been doing (although a lot of the time was spent, staring into space trying to decide what to do, and how to do it!)- and why I havn't had time to have any blog posts! This is for our towns Upwelling Festival tomorrow - it is a window display for the 2nd hand bookshop - I'm glad to have it finished. At the front of the picture is a book with the pages cut out - the pages have been used on the mural, and also folded into whales and dolphins which hang in front of the mural (hard to see in the photo) and are 'escaping' from the bookBack soon with some layouts, and more 'Slice of Life Tuesday' next week.

Monday, August 2, 2010

This layout is from a basic sketch from Lain at 'Scraphappy' (a new site from Lain's LayOut A Day. or LOAD, and as I did LOAD in May and have signed up for again in October, I have three months trial - free - subscription.!)

Sunday, August 1, 2010

This is the layout I made to send to my Mum, after our week in Redcliffe (near Brisbane) in Qld.

Saturday, July 10, 2010

This layout is made from a digi template by Ali Edwards which was a bonus in Camp Scrap. I have done it as a hybrid - printing it out as an 8x8 to use on my 12x12 layout. I might go back and add some more embellishments - but as I am going on holidays to visit family for a week it will do for now! Got the layout done for Belinda - no braces now, just a retainer for 6-12 months!

Monday, July 5, 2010

I have cheated a bit with my camera layout - no journalling but I think "photography makes me happy" is all I need to write. I have used Stacey Julians camera prompt, and also as part of LOM community the challenge was to do a layout with a photo of yourself it it. So I have done this super quick layout incorporating both challenges, and using the new Mama Razzi photography themed papers that I have just purchased.
