Project Life January (Part 2)

Here is my last spread for January (a bit keen to finish - lets hope nothing happens in the next 2 days, lol!). I ended up with more photos that expected (can't resist those sunrises on my morning walk!), so have removed the trimmed down page an replaced it with a full page, so have ended up with 3 double page spreads for January.  Lots of summer everyday life here, bbq's, walks, books, movies, australia day brekky, even giving the goat a haircut!

Photography 3 of 52

Here is our third diptych. Mine (on the left) is cindy & brindle heading home after our morning walk around the lagoon, Nikki's photo (on the right) is of Ella, her 'sleeping beauty'!

I don't have a photo for 52 photos in 52 weeks, the theme was community - and just didnt see anything.  But here is my photo for the 'where I stand' flickr group

And another instagram photo - just for fun, yummy homemade pizza by Tylar!

Project Life January (Part 1)

I'm loving using the Project Life Cobalt Core kit - the colours are great, with a mix of muted and vibrant colours, great for a more JOYful approch to my scrapbooking!

I am using the the Becky Higgins style A as one page, and a We R Memory keepers page which takes a mix of Vertical and horizontal photos.  I also have extra pockets which I have trimmed down as an extra page to use when I have more photos I want to include ( I have used this page this month.) I am still waiting on the paper to cut to put into the long 12"x2" slot on the second page of the first spread. So I will have 3 spreads for January, here are the first two!

Photography - Week 2 of 52

Diptych 2 of 52 - Love the chocolate cakes Nikki has chosen, and I have picked photos from a game of Monopoly we had last week!

The theme for the flickr group 52 photos in 52 weeks was 'Shine'.  I have used a photo of Christmas Lollies.

I am loving using the phone for my photos.  I know the quality isnt as good - but for most of my projects it is good enough! Instagram photos are shrunk considerably - but they are still great fun!

More to come next week!

Project Life 2012

This year I am using the actual Project life core kit and divided pages (I normally make up my own kit), and the core kit has FINALLY arrived. Here is my cover page using the Cobalt Kit.
I am going the simple way, basically using the items provided and slipping them & the photos into the pockets. I have set up a small desk in the lounge with everything in reach to make the process easy. The album fits at the front of the desk, behind the album is the white core kit, a box which hold some stamps and has a place to put tickets, receipts etc that I save to put into the album, the painted teddy box holds my corner rounder, tiny attacher, double sided tape, scissors, pens and post it notes.  Under the desk in the blue box I have some punches and a small paper trimmer, a journal, and a small box for paper scraps to go into.

Traditional Project Life has a double spread for each week, where I am doing 2 double spreads for each month, with occasional added cut down pages for the months where there are extra photos (birthdays, etc).
The plan is each weekend I save photos from my phone to the computer, and plan where they will go in the album, then finalising placement of photos, papers etc at the end of each month.

Photography in 2012

Two photography projects this year, the first is to take 52 photos in 52 weeks (I started this last year, without much success, hoping now that I have my iPhone that this should be easy!). Go to the flickr group http://www.flickr.com/groups/52photosin52weeks/ to see more entries in this - we are given a theme each week to take a photo of, the first weeks theme was NEW. This photo was taken on my morning walk to Nuns Beach.

My next project is a joint project with Nikki - we each choose a pic from the week from our phones, and email it to each other on the sunday evening. I then put them together into a dipych - we don't have any themes, and we don't discuss what pic the other will send! Here is week 1

2012 - Year of Joy!

I'm looking forward to 2012!
My Star sign said it was to be my year to detox, detox, detox! (it actually said to detox from food and fear!).  So I have joined Cathy Zeilskes Move More Eat Well year long class at Big Picture Classes, to keep me focused and motivated. We had to choose One Thing to follow through with for January, I have chosen to walk for at least an hour (or 5kms) at least 4 times a week, I'm going good so far, and I'm very thankful that Cindy is walking with me!

I have also signed up to do 'Twelve' with Stacy Julian (also at BPC) to keep me inspired with my scrapbooking.   Here is one of my favourite layouts from last year, hope to share some new layouts soon!

I'm redoing One Little Word, I love the concept, but as the class from Ali Edwards is the same as last year, I have developed the prompts more to suit myself, more fun and more as a reminder of the word over the year (although I love Ali Edwards classes, it was a bit too in depth and way too much journaling for me).
Here is my title page (front and back of a 6x6"page, washi tape covered chipboard letters, and my favorite 'joyful' photo from 2011,and a couple of definitions). My pages will go into the same album as I have used in 2010 and 2011, I will be using different page protectors each month, to try and keep the album interesting.  (I have Ange, Miriam & Bec joining me on this project - so good to have some motivation to make sure I continue through the whole year!)

Lots of creative joy for my year!

Joanne.
